1. Initial evaluation timeline
60 calendar days from the school district’s receipt of parental consent (stricter framing than the federal 60-day default, but with Florida-specific exclusions). Fla. Admin. Code R. 6A-6.0331(5)(f) requires that initial evaluations be “completed within sixty (60) calendar days after the school district’s receipt of parent consent for evaluation.” The count excludes school holidays/breaks (Thanksgiving, winter, spring), the summer vacation period, and student absences exceeding 8 school days during the period. The parent and district may extend by up to 30 calendar days by mutual written agreement secured before the 45th calendar day and after formal testing has begun. The timeline does not apply if the parent repeatedly fails/refuses to produce the student or the student transfers mid-evaluation. (Source: Fla. Admin. Code R. 6A-6.0331, Cornell LII; rule text also posted at FLDOE PDF)
2. Eligibility-to-IEP timeline
30 calendar days. An IEP must be developed within 30 days following the determination of eligibility and must be in effect before services are provided - Fla. Admin. Code R. 6A-6.03028(3)(f) (mirrors 34 C.F.R. § 300.323(c)). (Source: Fla. Admin. Code R. 6A-6.03028, Cornell LII)

Each state entry cites official sources. Links and state rules change. Confirm the cited official page again before a high-stakes act or deadline.
This companion is educational information, not legal advice. It does not replace advice from a licensed attorney in the state where the student attends school.
